I think Flash sites look great, but they aren’t great for SEO. Be warned. There are ways around the SEO issue to a degree I suspect, but I generally stay away from and don’t buy Flash templates because I put a huge emphasis on SEO when choosing a website platform.
That said, a Flash website can be incredibly stylish and highly functional.
When Should You Buy Flash Templates?
If you want to impress and aren’t too concerned about SEO, then purchasing Flash website templates could be for you. For example, if most of your website traffic is directed traffic from PPC or social media, then by all means, build a beautiful Flash website.
The Easiest Way to Build a Flash Website
Unless you’re a seasoned Flash expert, coding a Flash website is more difficult than using HTML / CSS.
1 MAJOR EXCEPTION: Wix. Wix is a Flash website builder that offers a FREE Flash website builder. I’ve built websites in Wix and I don’t know how to code Flash. Wix is truly “drag and drop” technology. Moreover, the Flash website templates available in Wix are outstanding. Better yet, customizing a website in Wix is probably the easiest website template customization platform I’ve ever used.
My Recommendation
If you’re hiring a Flash coder, or are one yourself, then the sky is the limit – check out the massive Flash website templates with Template Monster, Dream Template and Boxed Art. They offer a lot of choice for buying Flash templates. I’m obviously an advocate of using website templates because they save time and money – no matter how much coding experience you have.
However, if you don’t want to pay a Flash coder, yet desire a Flash website, then use Wix. You can build a website within an hour. Play around for a few days and you could build an incredible Flash website. It’s free for a Flash website hosted on the Wix domain. But if you have your own domain (recommended by Wix and me), then you can easily set up your Wix site on your own domain.
