Why Buy HTML Website Templates?

Pros to HTML Templates

  • More control over every individual page. In WordPress and Joomla, you’re offered set page and post layouts (unless you know how to create your own page templates – but that requires coding knowledge except with the Builder Theme). Using an HTML site is much easier to create custom pages. Granted, you must know how to code HTML and CSS.
  • Easier to buy an HTML template that is exactly what you’re looking for. There are thousands of HTML templates among the vendors featured above from whom you can buy HTML templates of all kinds.
  • Generally when you buy an HTML website it comes with several page layouts that you can work with. If you’re not into coding or don’t want to hire a designer/coder, then you get some variety with the template.
  • Maybe you don’t like using database driven website platforms such as WordPress and Joomla.
  • HTML websites are easier to sell. If you’re in the business of selling websites, it’s easier to zip an HTML site and provide it to the seller.
  • HTML website templates are great when you want different layouts for each page of your website. Generally, CMS platforms such as WordPress and Joomla don’t offer as much flexibility with layout as you can get with HTML templates.

Cons to HTML Templates

  • It’s not as easy to set up as a WordPress website. You’ll need to know some HTML coding or hire someone who does. I remember when I first started in building websites. I purchased an HTML website, and then couldn’t really use it because I knew nothing about coding. That’s when I went with WordPress. Since then I’ve become reasonably proficient at coding. Beware, if you’re looking for a simple solution, an HTML website template is not for you. Go instead with a WordPress theme or a website builder.
  • Slower adding content. A real benefit to using WordPress or Joomla is adding pages/posts is extremely easy and fast. Not so when you buy HTML website templates. There’s a little more formatting involved – but that’s why you get more flexibility with an HTML website template. There’s always a cost to every benefit.

That said, if you have the budget to hire a coder (or can code yourself), you can often get closer to exactly what you’re looking for when you buy HTML templates.
