In this article I compare web hosting services HostGator and Bluehost.
I’ll be frank, my HostGator vs. Bluehost analysis reveals that these two hosting services are remarkably similar. However, there are some differences that may affect your decision for which web hosting service you decide to use.
Why am I restricting my Web Hosting Comparison to Bluehost and HostGator?
Because these are the two hosting services I use. I’ve researched a number of hosting services, and these are the two I go with. Therefore, I have personal experience with both. Moreover, I recommend both of these services. The reason I compare these two web hosting companies in detail is to set out the subtle differences to assist you with your hosting decision.

Which Hosting Service Should You Use?
If access to great templates is important to you, then go with HostGator. If it’s customer support, I have to give the nod to Bluehost.
If you need some serious server power, go with HostGator. I was happy with both services until I realized Bluehost doesn’t offer VPS or dedicated servers (I had to get VPS for more power and resources).
Why do I use HostGator?
I used to use both Bluehost and HostGator, but due to website traffic increases, the shared server set up with Bluehost didn’t offer sufficient resources. Fortunately, HostGator offers both VPS servers (servers with a dedicated amount of resources) and dedicated servers. Therefore, I migrated all my websites to HostGator. I liked Bluehost, and their service was excellent, but they don’t offer what I need.
